... http://www.nature.com/isn/news/soc_announ/fullview.html?content_id=75183 Outcome of ISN Fellowship 2010-1 session revealed Following the last Fellowship application session which closed in January, a total of 21 grants have now been awarded to young nephrologists from emerging countries. 14 long-term fellowships have been given to young doctors across Asia, Africa and Latin America. Five ISN Fellows have also had their period of training extended by four to 12 months. Two short-term ISN Fellowships have been given to doctors in Chile and Mexico. ISN would like to thank APSN, CREED and Kidney Research UK who also contributed to the last session by sponsoring some successful candidates. You can review the full list including all details here. As part of ISN’s Global Outreach activities, the Fellowship Program provides relevant and contemporary nephrological training to physicians from emerging countries. They get hands-on training in advanced host institutions, allowing them to receive state-of-the-art knowledge in basic and clinical nephrology, dialysis, transplantation, and epidemiology. The training focuses on providing the exact skills and knowledge specifically required by the home institution. Thanks to this initiative, ISN Fellows can share knowledge and improve the standards of kidney care in their country once they return. |
